I know that everyone knows that blogging + internet has unleashed a spewing forth of the mundane of everywoman and everyman into our sights... what i'm interested in is what that does to us all! I mean, we don't necessarily have the filtering capabilites to handle so much crap (and the odd pearl). What does that do how efficiently we use our time? Or our senses?
Do we inevitably lose sensitivity to things if we are overwhelmed by information? (I'm imagining that pin-prick test when people have numb limbs...) Will all this mundane subject matter come around to being like TV? I thought that the web was different in this regard because it relied on you actually deciding a path... navigating information and space... but what if it became like flipping the remote?
