I haven't settled on whether it's only in America or all over the place, but, it seems that people say things using polite words, when in fact they're being assholes. (At least in Australia people are just assholes and you know where you stand.)
"Would you mind letting me past, please?" said a lady yesterday as MyNBF and I strolled casually along a sunny street. I'm sure she spat a little bit as she said it. After we accommodated her request, she mumbled some strange excuse with feigned happiness as she stormed by. Sure, if she's having a bad day, that's fine... but, the tone of voice and the gritted teeth?
Can I get a smile with my daggers?
