I've been doing French 101 at City Lit. It's fun. Today though, I ditched class because a) the 188 was really late, and even though I'd looked up Salut, désolé pour le retard b) I wanted to go get some daal and rice instead. I'm trying to do what I really, really want to do instead of not. (I'll probably do French 102, but not today.)
Anyway, City Lit's in Covent Garden so I wandered to Sagar, a good Indian veg place. Trouble was, lots of other people had also wandered there, and the only place available for one was at a table of four in the middle of the restaurant, so I declined. I set about finding another spot, and walked down the street.
All of a sudden, my left foot slipped forwards at speed and I fell straight down on my right knee. Today was rainy but not pouring so it was wet around, but I was wearing sneakers... It fucking hurt! After a moment of WTF I was able to stand up. I looked down and saw that I'd slipped on a bit of tomato that was in amongst some ick (but not spew) on the footpath. Ouch. Ow. I brushed off the tomato and kept moving, but ow it fucking hurt. I rested against a Victorian lamp post for a moment.

Most of my time is spent wondering what I'll have for lunch, so I settled back into one my favourite grooves. I walked down towards Aldwych. Tried to get a Lime bike. It never works for me in Covent Garden for some cell-signal reason. I decided to walk home. Across Waterloo Bridge and down past the National Theatre. I considered: Wahaca, National Theatre for "street food", ended up stopping for a Guinness at the pub by the Globe. Walked through Borough which is just far too full of people now to be fun. Saw a maybe office space—we have to give up the nice (expensive) one we have because we can see the end of the runway but I don't like working from home—then thought oooh brisket and beans would be nice but the only spot at the BBQ joint for one was a crummy "bar" with a bench and nothing to look at so no thank you. Saved again by 40 Maltby Street where I enjoyed crudités and cod's roe and a hare and swede pie. I began reading a book I bought about cohousing, which I've decided to learn more about.
I figure I should practice writing because I've been using Claude to write stuff and even though it is useful for idea-generating, I quite like my writing style and I think maybe I don't want to publish stuff or even share with co-workers if I don't write it, or the vast majority of it.
Also, I had fun this week designing and making a toy called Interplay Machine. It's for a charette thingy I'll be going to in January. I gathered up a lot of words about collaborating on data storage (in this case) and made a thing that juxtaposes them for you, to stimulate new angles. I made it by telling Claude to code it up for me. That was nice and quick, and then I put it on Github (Pages). Cool!
Bummed that I can't simply do a basic web thing called "upload image from computer" on Blogspot anymore without accepting Google cookies. Fuck that. All I ever do is log in to things or say FUCK OFF to cookies.
