I have been wandering around with a pinhole camera in my bag. Having little idea of what will pop out when I have the film developed is a very different sensation from shooting digital pictures, where you can see the photo you just took (or the 100 you just took) straight away. So that's fun and new.
Yesterday, after stumbling across this phonebook and taking a pinhole photo of it (yet to be developed), I ended up at Van Ness Station.
The chap behind the glass seemed photoworthy to me (that pale blue shirt, the greys and whites and machines that go ping), so I after I'd purchased my ticket I asked him if he would mind if I took a photo of him in his booth.
"No. You have to ask permission."
