A dear friend of mine, Adele Hann, is the Associate Director of the Adelaide Film Festival. She totally rocks, is very smart and has an excellent sense of what's hot in film and culture at large.
A while ago, I joined the AFF's mailing list and was chuffed to be told of a new, free festival that's running in Adelaide shortly. It's called the Portable Film Festival, and is "an international festival of short films just for portable devices".
I love hearing of hot stuff that's happening back home. I'll have to see if I can wangle having a chat at one of these things... ;)
