re·li·gieuse French. a woman belonging to a religious order, congregation, etc.
Not speaking a word of French beyond short, bastardised phrases to irk my Québécois friend, I learned this evening that it also appears to be part of how to say praying mantis in French (Mante Religieuse), and a cake made out of éclairs.
Perhaps if the Mante Religieuse was to eat her cake after biting the head off the devil incarnate then everything would make sense.
