I wanted to say holy fuck/shit/crap/bejeezus on the Flickr blog today as I posted to let everyone know the two billionth photo had been uploaded. Partly because I'm a swearing addict, but mostly because - and I kid you not - I continue to be entirely chuffed and deeply freaked out that I've been involved in something that keeps growing at such an astounding rate.
The Flickr team is absolutely amazing. Flickr's faster today than it was in Ye Olden Days, and our members keep on uploading beautiful, poignant, bland, visceral, colourful, dark, and fluffy stuff that I'm addicted to looking at. The team is tiny in proportion to our membership, and yet somehow, our little tribe keeps the boat afloat.
This is stunning and wonderful, and I'm very, very proud.
